It's heavy in my family. So heavy that I think it's why I have a problem accepting change (but that's another story for another time). The McCammons are all about making memories rooted deep in tradition. So for the past I don't know, 7 or so years, I always take pictures of my mom and dad when their 4 grandkids (MY nephews) are in town for the annual Christmas card photo. This year we were all out at Lake Skiatook when we went tromping down to the dock for some photos.

Boys don't love pictures as a rule, but I must admit they get better and better each year. These are some of my favorites. And if you see them on a Christmas card later this year from my mom and dad, well, now you know the story :) I don't want to ruin any surprises but these are too fun not to share!

And in keeping with tradition, here is the coolest Dad being the coolest Popi. He jumped from the trampoline to the 'katapult' to send Austin flying through the air.

Dear New York City,

I really like you. I may not be back to visit you for awhile, but my polaroids will always remind me of the magic you hold. And I know I sound like an outsider when I say this, but sometimes you reminded me of Europe with your accents and smells and your lack of free refills. But just like Europe, I know we will be friends forever. We made memories. We held hands. We danced. And really what more could an Okie ask for? So New York City, here's to you...and me. And us.

Sneak Peek Sunday!

I did an AMAZING engagement shoot yesterday. So amazing in fact, you will think I hired these people to be my models. While they are totally gorgeous, well, more her than him ;), they are a real couple getting married in the next week. I was thrilled to be a part of their story and they kept me laughing the entire time.

Here's your sneak peek Sunday!

Oh Baby!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower with 3 other girls for a dear friend of ours. We wanted it to be an event that she would never forget so we plotted and schemed until we came up with what we hoped was the perfect plan.

the hostesses :)

For the decor, we stole this girl's idea of pom poms (she has excellent style, go check out her blog!). And coupled with the 2 different shades of pink pom poms (that we made), we hung up 3 different clotheslines. Two of the clotheslines featured Kris and Jenn's maternity pics (taken by me!) and the third clothesline we hung from the mantle and spelled out the baby's name - Ryan.

pom poms. oh yeah.

...and #3 with baby Ryan's name!

Our signature drink was shirley temples because we know how much the mom to be loves them and of course, we didn't forget her favorite appetizer either - bruschetta! All in all it was a sweet time of friends and family getting together to celebrate God's miracle of life. Or we just wanted to eat yummy cupcakes. Either way, we had a blast!

um, yum.

lovies? is that what they're called?

Naptime you say? This little one seemed to think so!
we allowed one boy :)

And if you had eaten all that food AND three or four cupcakes, I'm not naming names, Lisa. You'd be worn out too :)

Thanks for getting pregnant Jenn! ;) Pin It

I learned something new from not so far and away...

You remember the movie right? Tom Cruise. Nicole Kidman. An adventure that takes them all the way from Ireland to the Unassigned Lands of the Oklahoma territory where they get a piece of what every man wants - land. Our state has a rich history beginning with the premise of this movie, the Land Run of 1889.

So, I was meeting a friend in Bricktown last weekend (he's a sculpture artist himself), and he suggested we meet at the Land Run Memorial. I didn't even know it existed! Can you believe that? The state I love so much still has secrets from me. Wow! And what a treasure this impressive landmark truly is. When completed it is going to be one of the largest bronze sculptures in the world! And the detail is phenomenal. I only had my point and shoot on me so the pictures aren't as great as I'd like but I had to share them. And if you go see the memorial tell me. I want the whole world to know now!

I forgot to mention - the sculptures are one and half life size. They are massive! Isn't the motion in this one cool?

He's going to start blogging soon and when he does, you will be the first to know. He's an amazing artist (always has been) and a little quirky but I'll let him tell his story. Hint, hint, Nathan. Start blogging! Pin It

I went round and round.

let's go. i went.
But now I'm home. And I have lots of things to share with you including client sessions of a 4 month old and some campaign pictures and a tutorial on how to take New York City by polaroid. It pretty much rocked.

Oh and tonight when you go out to eat here in middle America, thank your waiter for filling up your pop for free. It's the simple things that make life so sweet and when they are stripped away for a few days you realize just how beautiful home really is.

Or you like Dr. Pepper entirely too much. Either way, it's good to be back :) Pin It

I jumped.

Maybe it's time for a sno cone. And bare feet. Maybe it's time for the days to be even longer. And the nights to be lit with fireflies. Maybe Dr. Peppers should be sipped. And music should be played just a little bit louder. Maybe, just maybe it's time to jump in and let the water do the rest...
i am ready. Pin It

My latest find.

Sometimes I think I must be the only one who loves Oklahoma as much as I do. And then I stumbled across this bracelet. Not only did I HAVE to have it. I also was reminded that while I think this land is my land. I know it's your land too. And I'm glad that there are so many of us who call it Home Sweet Oklahoma.
this land is my land...
