Tradition.

It's heavy in my family. So heavy that I think it's why I have a problem accepting change (but that's another story for another time). The McCammons are all about making memories rooted deep in tradition. So for the past I don't know, 7 or so years, I always take pictures of my mom and dad when their 4 grandkids (MY nephews) are in town for the annual Christmas card photo. This year we were all out at Lake Skiatook when we went tromping down to the dock for some photos.

Boys don't love pictures as a rule, but I must admit they get better and better each year. These are some of my favorites. And if you see them on a Christmas card later this year from my mom and dad, well, now you know the story :) I don't want to ruin any surprises but these are too fun not to share!















And in keeping with tradition, here is the coolest Dad being the coolest Popi. He jumped from the trampoline to the 'katapult' to send Austin flying through the air.


Making memories. That's how we roll.

Dear New York City,

I really like you. I may not be back to visit you for awhile, but my polaroids will always remind me of the magic you hold. And I know I sound like an outsider when I say this, but sometimes you reminded me of Europe with your accents and smells and your lack of free refills. But just like Europe, I know we will be friends forever. We made memories. We held hands. We danced. And really what more could an Okie ask for? So New York City, here's to you...and me. And us.

April & Ken: Engagement

It was an early Saturday morning. Normally you would find April & Ken running through the park. But not today. Today they shed the running shoes for high heels and dress clothes and a chance to document what anyone who is around them for even a split second would know. They're in love. The kind of love that makes you stop, collaborate and listen. (Sorry, at some point throughout the morning we all were singing this song!) He doesn't stop talking and she doesn't stop laughing. That's the kind of love that makes my job easy.

More than comfortable being together, they are best friends. And you can't help but tell they are ready for life's adventures. Have fun in Mexico, friends! Here's your sneak peek before you take off...

Sneak Peek Sunday!

I did an AMAZING engagement shoot yesterday. So amazing in fact, you will think I hired these people to be my models. While they are totally gorgeous, well, more her than him ;), they are a real couple getting married in the next week. I was thrilled to be a part of their story and they kept me laughing the entire time.

Today.

I have...

woken up from a night of tossing and turning, drank a Starbucks, wished a friend happy birthday at least 10 times, shot an engagement shoot, shot portraits for a 15 year old, got on the facebook (yep, I said the facebook because well, I think it's funny), made myself laugh (that just happened), jammed some music and got chills watching an OU football video.

I am...

anxiously awaiting the wedding I'm shooting tonight, a little hungry and contemplating a nap.

And because life is better with pictures, here's my sweet pup taking her position as guardian of our home very seriously. Don't interrupt her. She's hard at work. Hard at work looking for the best sunny spot in the yard to take her 15th nap of the day.

GT Bynum: Campaign

I recently had the opportunity to photograph GT Bynum and his family for his upcoming re-election campaign on the Tulsa City Council. This was super fun for me because while I've been around politics for, I don't know, EVER, I hadn't really had the chance to take professional pictures for anyone. We brainstormed together and came up with the images below. My hope is these pictures will stand out and catch people's eye. And as a candidate that's what you want, right? To be remembered. Especially when the voter goes to mark their ballot on election day.











This is my favorite. As a City Councilor, GT worked to get this road redone. I like the bright yellow stripe :)
